![]() Steve LabkoffSenior Director/Medical Account Executive Dr. Labkoff is a senior director in the World Wide Medical Division of Pfizer. His team works with key customers in helping them to understand issues around quality and clinical effectiveness in by leveraging health information technology. In his previous role, Director of Healthcare Informatics, he provided internal consulting and project management for multiple internal organizations including Global Research and Development, Safety, Regulatory and Medical Policy. His current areas of interest include current trends in eHealth such as the emergence of Regional Health Information Organizations, the National Health Information Network, topics such as personal health records, standards development, and health care data reuse. Previously, Dr. Labkoff was an instructor of Medicine and Medical Informatics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he also completed his post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Informatics. While there, he practiced Internal Medicine at the Brookside Community Health Center while maintaining a teaching appointment at the medical school. Dr. Labkoff is currently working with the American Medical Informatics Association to help create a national policy around secondary uses for healthcare data. Prior to that, he was involved in the Academic Alliance for AIDS Care and Prevention in Africa. Dr. Labkoff, an Internist, did his medical training at the University of Pittsburgh and at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Informatics Association, the Health Information Management Systems Society, the eHealth Initiative, the National Alliance for Health Information Technology, and several other professional organizations. |
