Hyeoneui Kim wins Nursing Informatics Working Group Award

November 2007

Hyeoneui Kim, RN, PhD, a postdoc fellow at the DSG since 2006, won the 2007 AMIA Nursing Informatics Working Group Award "in recognition of a student who demonstrates excellence in nursing informatics and who has the potential to contribute significantly to the discipline of nursing and health informatics". The award was presented at the AMIA Fall Symposium in Chicago.

Hyeoneui won the award for her work “Beyond Surface Characteristics: A New Health Text-Specific Readability Measurement”, developed as part of Qing Zeng-Treitler's consumer health informatics grant.


DSG will participate in XDR-TB program project

October 2007

Dr. Meghan Murray from the BWH Division of Social Medicine was awarded a program project grant from the NIAID. DSG will collaborate with Dr. Hamish Fraser, director of informatics for Partners in Health, on the development of predictive models for XDR-TB.


Health literacy project funded by the NIH

September 2007

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has awarded Qing Zeng, PhD a grant to develop computer-based tools to assess patient health literacy and adapt education materials according to literacy levels.


DSG moves to new digs!

May 2007

DSG offices moved to a new location on Commonwealth Avenue near Boston University. This new BWH facility has larger offices and a dedicated conference room. Our neighbors are the Department of Preventive Medicine and the Research Administration group of our Radiology department. A free shuttle between DSG headquarters and the BWH main campus runs every 30 minutes.
